ebuild is sad to announce its closure - it has become too time and resource intensive to develop, manage and maintain.

However, ebuild will remain on-line in archive mode (ie no posting facilties) for several weeks so that users can use it as an information resource.

Anyone know of a VERY basic (& cheap) CAD program? Just something to show garden walls to clients so they can see what they're wanting before work starts so they don't start changing things as work progresses

Try www.cadlogic.com/Default.aspx they do a free cad package which can be upgraded if required.

Google sketchup is worth a look if you want 3D. Easiest free CAD program I've used. Great for quick 3D mock ups/sketches.

Not so good if you want professional 2D scale drawings with text annotations. However I have used it to do the planning application for an outbuilding. Lots of free add-ons available that might transform it.

you can always download a 30 day trial version of cad from the autodesk website to see if you get on with the software

there's also a book - dummies guide to autocad which is very good at getting you to learn the basics

if you need any help PLMK
