ebuild is sad to announce its closure - it has become too time and resource intensive to develop, manage and maintain.

However, ebuild will remain on-line in archive mode (ie no posting facilties) for several weeks so that users can use it as an information resource.

Obviously there is the ever famous Construction Channel on YouTube by our very own Ed:
https://www.youtube....tructionChannel

But does anyone subscribe to any others worth watching on the building/trades/DIY front?

LoL and yes I do,
I will happily list the ones i think are worth recommending,

woodworking

Paul sellers: https://www.youtube....SellersWoodwork
old school cabinet maker, takes a lot of pride in his work. very calm

Wranglerstar: https://www.youtube....uVHtvgSVf6TgfUg
all round entertaining channel i find, but based around homesteading in the the pacific north west

Izzy Swan: https://www.youtube....vWL5jx2q15Ma_Hw
loves making Jigs, and tbh has made some pretty impressive ones

woodlands TV : https://www.youtube....mqPmWdMeB6x9nvA (recommended by Ian)
all round "past trades" like making shingles or taxidermy or a pole lathe and so on, better production values than a stand alone youtuber

Steve Ramsey: https://www.youtube....ser/stevinmarin
pretty funny most of the time, smaller woodworking projects

there are a couple of others that i won't mention because their presenting style kind of annoys me although sometimes their content can be quite good.

Brickwork

Rob songer: https://www.youtube....user/robsonger1
a very talented man, also has a bunch of older videos all about bonding and setting out

General build or self-build story

Dean and Hannah: https://www.youtube....9lkxfpUvFnoTM8g
a very nice couple at the very beggining stages of their self build story, will be a great channel to watch grow and i personally think will end up being a much bigger channel in the self build scene than i will be ;)

Shane Conlan ( Uncle Knackers): https://www.youtube....eofGZhhQFBK7djw
an ex ebuilder and seems to be a genuinely nice guy, he is at the latter stages of this build (just finished tiling the bathrooms)

and me obviously :)
all round God of youtube ;) but generally just a guy who enjoyed watching others videos so thought he would have a go while he was building his house

for general entertainment i would also recommend

CGP Grey : https://www.youtube....L725hvbm1arSV9w
quick and very imformative videos on all kinds of topics

smarter every day: https://www.youtube....I4m0o2-emgoDnAA
pretty much as above but in a different way

colin furze: https://www.youtube....ty0O-n9QU6phsgw
general mad man but great engineering projects

Casey Neistat: https://www.youtube....-fVthA0qrFQTgXQ
a vloger but i just like his style, i even find myself looking forward to seeing what he was up to today

and Ozzy man reviews : https://www.youtube....LX_gCd0Yvns517Q
NSFW but amuses the hell out of me

HTH

Blimey Ed, do you ever go out :)

I already had subscriptions to a couple on your woodwork list but there are plenty more for me to try now :)

Thank you.

Looks like I forgot Matthias Wandel. Generally a woodworker but great for building machines from scratch.

And it's not so much not going out. More I just don't watch TV. :P

Ha, I used to love that show! I was just talking to my wife about it a couple of days ago, because the guy who plays Sledge Hammer is in "In the Loop" (movie related to "In the Thick of It"). She'd never heard of Sledge Hammer, and I was very disappointed.

You have to watch it all to find out.

Ed
I think it may be older than you (1986). Try and watch them all in sequence.
I think most us watched it because of Dori Doreau (Anne-Marie Martin), but the violence was a bonus.
She was married to Michael Crichton, the writer and very lucky man (till he died).
