As I said elsewhere, everyone who makes such contact genuinely thinks they're the only one doing it. Understandable, because they have no idea how busy this forum has become.
The compounding element is the complexity of building to the standards advocated on here - now - and the wholly understandable belief that their project is unique, or at least different enough to justify a query, in person, off-forum, because no one else could possibly be building anything similar, right? Wrong, but then you'd need to be a regular (or at least lingered on the periphery) long enough to know different.
I've watched people come and go over a fair stretch of time and believe I have a fair understanding of how a lot of people think. I don't get too heated because I am still able to remind myself that "it's just a forum", although some people have managed to force me off to cool down for a couple of days. I do answer off-forum PMs but usually advise taking the correspondence back into the public area, sometimes (although rarely) copying and pasting the exchange into an open-forum thread and explaining the context. But that's handle-able, the volume of traffic going Jeremy's way isn't and I'm not sure I could have handled it in as calm a way as he has.
Again as I've said, Jeremy's situation is unique and is the price of being so good at what he does and so clear in how he describes it. There is a "home remedy" and we'll give it time to see how well it works.
