ebuild is sad to announce its closure - it has become too time and resource intensive to develop, manage and maintain.

However, ebuild will remain on-line in archive mode (ie no posting facilties) for several weeks so that users can use it as an information resource.

Is This A Record - The Longest Time To Respond?

In August 2014 I sent out drawings to a number of companies, requesting a quote for an element of my self build. I've just received a reply from one of them. Not bad that - 495 days to reply to an email.

Can anyone beat that?

Was that 495 days after follow up emails and perhaps a phone call? If so, after that time, a response really is pointless.

It was 495 days after a couple of responses to questions from them to me, then it went quiet, I assumed due to a lack of interest.

Maybe they're seeing a slow down in work and thought a trawl through the old correspondence file worth a punt.

And I thought a window company contacting me to "go through a few points before quoting" 2 months after I contacted them was a bit slow.

I once had a recruitment agency call me up 8 years after I left them my CV.
They asked if I was still looking for a new job. I said I had starved to death and been reborn since.

We had two ICF companies contact us shortly after we'd done the pour asking us how we got on and if there was anything they could do. This was over 6 months after initial query. I took great pleasure in going back with 'We have now completed the pour'. Both replied quick as a flash asking who we used.

So far I've had the fastest response from Eire and 2 British based, but Polish run firms. Some British ones just have not bothered to reply. Then will probably whinge about the downturn!
