Required Roof/wall Insulation To New And Existing Dwellings

Could some one please direct me in the right direction to help work out what size roof/wall insulation is required for new build and extensions to existing dwellings. I have looked around in the approved docs but may have overlooked it.

Rough and ready: http://www.vesma.com...01/uvalue01.htm
Note that Part L is "worst acceptable" standard. If you are building a house I suggest you aim for much better.

L1B covers existing buildings and extensions to existing buildings...
Assuming it's extensions you are interested in...
Section 4 covers Extensions including several different methods that can be used to show compliance - can be handy in difficult situations - for example where you have a lot of glass in the new extension.
One way is you have each wall/window achieve U-Values mentioned in section 5.1-5.6 Table 2 page 18.
Companies like Celotex and Kingspan have u-value calculators on their web sites. Aim for better then the minimum as Gravelld said.
