ebuild is sad to announce its closure - it has become too time and resource intensive to develop, manage and maintain.

However, ebuild will remain on-line in archive mode (ie no posting facilties) for several weeks so that users can use it as an information resource.

I wanted to change my signature but got this message:
You cannot change your signature until 03 January 2287

Is this normal?

Signatures have been defunct because of pi** takers.
Profile pages are unaffected ;)

It was done 'member specific' as David ( admin ) couldn't do a site wide removal.
If you have one and its seen by the mods, it'll be removed and you'll be pm'd with the reason.
I suppose this thread can now be dedicated to a polite request for anyone with a signature to please remove it with immediate effect, in accordance with this recent change with site rules.
Blatant abuse ( by new members deciding to blow their own commercial trumpets ) was the last nail, but given that no one here has a direct commercial interest ( with it being a discussion forum ;) ) then there's simply no need to add policing this to the mods 'to do' list, especially with the forum being so busy :)
Profile pages are unaffected, so any thoughts or anecdotes can be displayed there without issue, but still without anyone taking the mick I'll hasten to add ;)
Keeping this place clean and tidy makes it a great resource, so cooperation is much appreciated by all :)
Regards, nick.

I wondered why this was the case but I can see why.

I actually wanted to 'advertise' the building problems I'm looking for help with rather than commercial interests. Oh well, I'll look at the blogs and profie pages instead.
