Unable To Copy And Paste Text
Posted 13 March 2015 - 03:50 PM
I am unable to cut /copy and paste text into a dialog box such as this one. Any ideas as to how I can overcome this problem?
Also at times, typing text such as now becomes a struggle - I have to really push hard on the keypad. This is the only site have these problems with.
Any offers of a solution would be welcome.

All the problems I've been having have been using Firefox!
For a while I used 'Pale Moon' because the problems with Firefox were becoming so tiresome...
Then Firefox updated something or other and I went back to give it a try because although Pale Moon was absolutely brilliant, it lacked the facility to back-track with a single key stroke which I found a bit of a nuisance. Since when Firefox has been relatively cooperative until recently when I've been having problems accessing ebuild, only cured by erasing all my cache/history. Not life-threatening, but a bloody nuisance because you need to re-enter all the passwords to every site.

I have minimal problems on this site (approx. 3-4 years old) using FF (again approx. 3-4 years old), but I find my version of FF pretty unstable on some new web sites using the latest coding options. Also FF used on an Ubuntu system like mine, has different idiosyncrasies to FF used on say W7 or OS X.
Given the incredible rate of change in web development though, its amazing that there aren't more difficulties with backwards compatibility etc.

I have been having trouble scrolling and the touchpad becoming 'jerky'. I also lose the ability to two finger scroll, expand/contract and sometimes right click.
These problems spill over to other programs as well.
I run chkdsk /f from the command prompt and it stopped happening, but came back, so ran the virus checker and found 3 instances of some pathetic malware, got shot of them, run checkdisk again and all seems fine now.
So not sure what this weeks problems have been caused by.

I got so frustrated by the problems with Ff that I've tried what seemed like every other browser going but always came back to Ff because it makes browsing life so easy. No major difference, just fiddly detail stuff you don't think you'd miss until it's gone.
