ebuild is sad to announce its closure - it has become too time and resource intensive to develop, manage and maintain.

However, ebuild will remain on-line in archive mode (ie no posting facilties) for several weeks so that users can use it as an information resource.

Stage 1 Is Very Nearly Complete :)

I'm pretty sure a lot of people had worked out that the Easter 15% on top of other discounts was a pretty good deal on some things. When I went in yesterday morning the car park was at least half full of tradespeople's vans, and the store was half full of trades people, all picking up large amounts of "click and collect" stuff. The front half of the store was chock-a-block full of loaded up trolleys waiting for collection, with loads of them being piled high with bags of cement, plaster and sheets of plasterboard. I think a fair few people had done the same sums I did, and worked out that adding all the discounts up meant that a load of stuff was a lot cheaper than anywhere else.

What I've never got my head around is why the starting price for stuff at TP is almost always higher than the shop price in Wickes, when they are the same firm.

Who's done your SE calcs on those beams..????

I'm looking at a similar span as yours looks about 5m long and 4.5m between wall plates and the calcs I'm seeing are much bigger steels than you have there !

its really not a problem as i could have been fitting them that way anyway, but its the fact its just one that made me laugh, and that will annoy a load of people more than me so I'm leaving it :D

Funny, when I made a bulk order, used my trade card and the 15% the price came out more than I was expecting despite the sales girl being convinced the discounts were cumulative.. "Delete that trade card line item there that is giving the discount.." I suggested. The price then went down by another 50 quid

Ymmv but the trade scheme I'm on couldn't be combined with the Easter 15%
