The egg crate or dimpled membranes still require drainage and are normally used as a secondary line of tanking inside basements. If you have a means of drainage then go for it.

Outside was planning on using dimpled membrane (also allows air flow against the wall), drain at the bottom with run off and back filled with pea gravel. Then internal maybe a lime render mix to help the wall breath, still looking into this.
