I get the feeling that some of the dimmer members of society might be gradually realising that being offensive via the web is no different to being offensive face-to-face or in any other form of published media.
Long before I retired my former employer had a policy of checking out any published comment (including stuff found via internet searches) for all prospective employees who were short listed for interview. I know that many never got an interview because the personal attributes they'd displayed on farcebook and the like made them unsuitable for employment with us. In fact for many years any employee was specifically prohibited from communicating openly on any form of published media, including the internet, although quite a few of us got around that restriction by using pseudonyms. I recall having to stop using a well known aviation forum when my real ID was made public by a rather nasty chap from the AAIB (who was equally breaking the terms of his own employment on the same site!).

Don't panic though mate, these forums tend to go off on a tangent if you don't keep your nose in and the rudder straight!!
In fairness, if you ask a question you will receive plenty of informative, and priceless information which will help you to sail straight and narrow.
No salesmen here, just people who have been there and done it, got the medals ( and scars ), and are willing to share those experiences helping you make your own decisions.
If you find a way to propel your self build with just a paper round for funding, make me the first person you tell please! :-)
PS good luck, and in my ex bosses words, "adapt, and overcome!"

There is further development in the blogs above with some contributions from the 'usual suspects' and
I thank them for that.
This is all the basis for a book based on developing dreams...no tech or financial stuff, just how to

Have you looked at land/plot prices in areas you'd like to live? We had to make the bold decision to move from the South East (Sussex) to Somerset once it was clear our budget wouldn't even get us land where we were living, and have bought the most perfect plot in a lovely little village on the levels. We sold our house and moved into rented last month nearby, and got our planning permission through last week so all systems go now VERY exciting! A blog is a great idea, I do one too - although don't share it as it's just my ramblings! This forum has been very helpful so far, seems great for bouncing ideas around to see what others with a lot more expereince think! Keep your dream alive and go for it! We're also attempting this with small children, aged 4 and 2...eeek!
