ebuild is sad to announce its closure - it has become too time and resource intensive to develop, manage and maintain.

However, ebuild will remain on-line in archive mode (ie no posting facilties) for several weeks so that users can use it as an information resource.

S&n's Irish Farmhouse - Part 5 - Foundations

Posted by crozier84 , 14 August 2015 · 1,186 views

Foundations have been poured and brickies are coming to start building up the footing blocks on Monday morning. We used 25m3 of 20N concrete at £52per m2. This done both the house and garage.

Having thought long are hard I've decided to go with Spantherm which is a pre-insulated precast concrete flooring system. Given that we need to build our house up at the front by approximately 1.3m buiding control have advised we need to provide slabs therefore Spantherm is working out to be the most practical and cost effective solution.

We seriously considered Spantherm, but in the end opted for Tetris. The Scottish Spantherm partner never bothered to quote us, despite us following up twice and looking for a quick turnaround.

It looks pretty good, look forward to seeing more pics!
